ABOUT

The Jewish Book Village is an independent and affordable platform that supports Jewish authors and provides exposure to an enthusiastic and supportive audience.

This online community is dedicated to elevating Jewish books across genres, denominations, and perspectives. We operate at the intersection of publishing, media, and community to streamline the review process, amplify discoverability, and connect authors with meaningful exposure. Our network is made up of professionals in the worldwide book industry, editors, publishers, booksellers, media personalities, community leaders, influential voices in the Jewish world, and bibliophiles who appreciate quality Jewish literature.

At its heart, The Jewish Book Village is a community. We empower authors with practical tools, shared wisdom, and meaningful opportunities to promote their work with confidence and integrity. Rooted in collaboration and mutual support, the Village exists to elevate Jewish books, spark conversation, and ensure that these works continue to inform, inspire, and endure.

The Jewish Book Village is a project conceived and designed by the team at Singer Publicity, a leading book marketing agency that is trusted by mainstream and Jewish publishers, writers, creators, and organizations worldwide. Singer Publicity has helped hundreds of authors market their books and establish themselves as leading voices in the Jewish world, and beyond.

The Concept

The Jewish Book Village is the first comprehensive review and discovery ecosystem built specifically for Jewish-themed books and the people who care about them. Designed to meet authors where they are and elevate a wide range of Jewish titles within the broader publishing world, it brings together the most effective elements of industry-leading review platforms into one trusted, values-aligned hub.

The Model

For authors, the site offers multiple pathways to visibility and credibility. Display your book and share advance reader copies with librarians, booksellers, educators, journalists, influencers, and dedicated bibliophiles, while you connect with engaged readers who provide their honest feedback on the site, social media and other platforms. Here, authors can choose their package for paid professional articles from experienced journalists, ensuring high editorial standards and thoughtful analysis, alongside reader-driven reviews that generate buzz and authentic word-of-mouth. The JBV then invites partnering outlets to republish this content to increase visibility.

For reviewers, the platform creates meaningful opportunities at every level. Established critics, journalists, and industry professionals can be commissioned to contribute paid, trade-quality reviews. Emerging reviewers and passionate readers can apply to receive review copies to build their portfolios, and share their thoughts for high-quality, guideline-driven feedback.

All members are vetted to maintain credibility, respect, and relevance to those interested in literary works related to Jewish life in a historical or contemporary sense.

The Model

More than a review site, this is a community of ideas, creativity, and growth. Join our monthly webinars and online meetings with professionals in the publishing industry and participating members.

We aspire to evolve as a network of like-minded creatives and a wellspring of inspiration.

The Need

While The Jewish Book Village was conceived prior to the horrific events of October 7th, the sharp rise in antisemitism and blacklisting of Jewish authors confirmed the vital need to support these creators, amplify their voices, and provide a respectful space to showcase their latest masterpieces.

Additionally, the current media landscape shows a dearth of publications that cover Jewish book news. Those that do cover reviews and feature articles are typically segmented, cater to a particular niche, and are extremely selective.

The Jewish Book Village seeks to fill this gap by being an umbrella site for all authors whose books relate to Jewish life and to Israel respectfully.

The Curated Bookshelf

We welcome fiction and nonfiction titles related to Jewish life, culture, law, history, and/or Israel.
